SneakyPlants began with Monica — known to many as Nicky — whose lifelong love for greenery started in the urban tropics of the Philippines. Growing up in a home overflowing with plants, she developed a natural curiosity for how they grow, adapt, and transform spaces.

When she moved to Canada in 2020, the drastic change in climate inspired a new journey: learning how to recreate tropical-like environments indoors and discovering which plants can truly thrive in modern homes. What began as a few grocery-store herbs and garden center plants quickly grew into an extensive collection, plant cabinets, and eventually a full plant room of hundreds of thriving plants.

By 2023, Monica launched The Prop Studio—which recently rebranded to The Plant Studio, selling propagated plants, custom potting mixes, and supplies while also sharing styling and care tips on YouTube and Instagram as SneakyPlants.

Today, SneakyPlants has grown into a dedicated team of plant care and styling specialists. Combining years of hands-on experience and knowledge, formal certifications, and design expertise to bring curated plant solutions to homes and businesses.

From personalized care to thoughtful styling, the team’s mission is simple: to create spaces where plants and people thrive, all year round.
